FAQ
What does a physical therapist do?
-
-
- Physical therapists (PTs) are movement experts who optimize quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education. PTs teach people how to prevent or manage their condition so they will achieve long-term health benefits. PTs examine each person and develop a plan, using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. In addition PTs work with people to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles. The vision statement for the physical therapy profession is “Transforming society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience”. (https://www.apta.org/aboutpts/)

What is mobile and concierge physical therapy?
-
-
- Mobile/concierge physical therapy is like the house calls of old. We meet you where you are at. This could be at your home, work, gym, or wherever else you are. This is not home health physical therapy, which has arbitrary rules dictated by insurance companies. We also offer in-office visits at Infit Gym and Kron Gracie Jiu Jitsu of West Monroe/Vital Fitness.
- This model of care allows your physical therapist to deliver a more personalized, tailored level of treatment to help you achieve your goals. For those that have experienced the “traditional” model of physical therapy care in a clinic with high copays (often more than M3 Physio’s rate) and practitioners forced to see multiple people per hour, then you know this old model leads to you having increased cost and less effective care overall. M3 Physio’s goal is to change that… letting you take charge of your own healthcare!

Do I need a referral from my medical doctor?
-
-
- For Louisiana citizens the quick answer is no. Louisiana direct access was signed into law in 2016. This means that you can choose to see a physical therapist first which saves you time and money by preventing unnecessary appointments. Physical therapists are highly trained in determining if your condition is appropriate for conservative treatment or would better be seen by another healthcare provider. If it is decided you would be better seen by another healthcare provider, M3 Physio will help you determine who to see. We have relationships with multiple medical doctors and specialists in Northeast Louisiana. That said, healthcare is best as a team. M3 Physio accepts referrals from all healthcare professionals and will work with your team to provide you the best possible care.

Insurance:
-
-
- Do you accept my insurance?
- No, M3 Physio does not accept insurance. Having worked in the insurance model for over half a decade, there are very few insurances that do not limit your ability to see your physical therapist either through high copays, limited visits, or dictating the type of treatment you receive. M3 Physio was started to return to the time when healthcare was between you and your provider, without a third party determining what happens. If needed, we will work with you on costs. Our goal is to quickly relieve your symptoms and improve your function, while teaching you what to do to continue your progress.

- Can I submit for reimbursement from my insurance?
- We understand you pay to use your insurance, we encourage each client to reach out to their insurance provider to see if they can submit out-of-network benefits for themselves. If so, M3 Physio will provide a superbill to help you be reimbursed by your insurance. Please contact us with any questions!

How long does each visit last?
-
-
- Your initial session is typically 45 min to 1 hour. During this time we review your current compliant and medical history, perform a thorough examination to determine the cause of your issues and how best to help, and discuss your game plan moving forward while beginning treatment. After this visit, follow-up visits typically last 30 minutes to 1 hour (or more if needed). These visits are more focused on treatment (manual therapy and exercise) and discussing your game plan so you can continue your progress on your own.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
-
-
- Straight from our initial paperwork: “M3 Physio requires notice 24 hours before your appointment for all cancellations. At this time we are not charging a cancellation fee as we understand that circumstances may arise that are out of your control and we want to be your therapist and help you achieve your goals. With that, M3 Physio will review each cancellation on a case by case basis and if a cancellation without reason occurs with less than 24 hours notice, it is at the therapist’s discretion to move or terminate your remaining sessions.”

What do I need for a virtual session? (Also known as TeleHealth, TeleRehab, and TeleTherapy)
-
-
- The simple answer is a phone or a computer with internet access. For video conferencing we use Google Meet. Virtual sessions can be used for physical therapy evaluation/treatment as well as wellness sessions (if for any reason your condition is not appropriate for a virtual session, we will schedule you for an in-person session). We also provide a free virtual consult for people that want to see if M3 Physio is the right fit for them.

-
-
- Unless you are the boss or owner, we ask that you check with them to make sure it is alright we treat you at your work or gym. After that it is pretty much business as usual with your evaluation and treatment. A bonus is that we are able to help you in your environment… whether an ergonomic assessment of your workspace, figuring the best way to achieve your goals at your gym, or something else!
